About Us

Our Story

The story of The Home Improvement Warehouse Ltd. began long before the business actually became a reality. It started with many years working in the retail building supply industry and watching what was happening as the big box stores took over. The level of service and, more importantly, the level of knowledge started to disappear and the customers were left with no one to help guide them through their projects. Up until the box store invasion, the building supply store was where you went to get the advice you needed about your project and the help to get it done. Whether you were a professional contractor doing a job or a homeowner trying to improve your home the person at the lumberyard made sure you got the right material for the job.

Our Store

In 2005 The Home Improvement Warehouse Ltd. was started to bring the service and experience back to the building supply industry. We wanted to provide our customers with the products and services they needed to get the job done and we wanted to do it at a fair price. The idea was to change the traditional shopping experience and to build a showroom environment so the customer could really experience how the products would look and feel. We knew our customers were tired of making selections based on a small display in a large store, they wanted to see more than that and they wanted someone to help them with the selection process. Today, we have a large showroom with over 200 doors on display, a massive deck display with over 50 colours of decking, a garage built inside the store and flooring you can actually walk on. Not only have we changed how you shop for your project we provide the experience and knowledge to make it happen.

We are a locally owned family managed business.
